EFSAC Endorsement Procedure
EFSAC Members can publish under their own name technical documents with the statement EFSAC endorsed under certain conditions :
- The documents called ETDs act as a European guideline as long as no CEN, CENELEC or ETSI standard exists.
- A real market need at European level is identified
and
- No activity in the particular field is currently underway in CEN, CLC or ETSI
or
- stand-still agreements have been cancelled
or
- the progress of work is unacceptable, ie the target dates are exceeded by far
or
- additional requirements concerning an existing CEN or CENELEC standard are necessary
- ETDs are prepared by EFSAC members and endorsed by the EFSAC board. This means that the relevant ETDs are supported by the European insurers, certifiers and manufacturers.
