EFSAC Endorsement Procedure
EFSAC Members can publish under their own name technical documents with the statement "Endorsed by EFSAC" under certain conditions :
- The documents called ETDs act as a European standard as long as no CEM, CLC or ETSI standard exists.
- A real market need at European level is identified
and
- No activity in the particular field is currently underway in CEN, CLC or ETSI
or
- Stand-still agreements have been cancelled
or
- The progress of work is unacceptable, ie the target dates are exceeded by far
or
- Additional requirements concerning an existing CEN or CLC standard are necessary
- Technical specifications for ETDs are prepared by experts of CEA and the relevant European manufacturers' associations and endorsed by the EFSAC board. This means that the relevant ETDs are supported by the European insurers, certifiers and manufacturers.
